There is normally snow (depth approximately 1,50 metres) in this region from the beginning of December until the end of April. While most other places are enjoying the spring flowers, we are still enjoying clear blue skies, a bright sun and a white blanket of snow.
This allows us to offer a broad range of winter activities such as dog sled and snowmobile excursions in the wilderness, ice fishing, downhill and cross country skiing etc.
All our activities can obviously be modified to suit your specific needs or wishes. Contact us for your tailor-made holiday. Prices vary depending on the time of year and number of participants.
We also reserve the right to change/modify our excursions either beforehand or while they are going on if the current weather conditions require us to do so. Safety is our highest priority!

The tour is rounded off with a chat over a cup of coffee and a bite to eat.
Price: Adults: SEK 800/Person
Children between the ages of 6 and 12: SEK 400/Person
Introduction Week
This week will give you a taste of the true “musher” life style. Each day you will help take care of the dogs and will get to know them.
You will also learn how to handle the equipment so that you are able to strap the dogs in on your own after the second day. Once that’s done we’ll take an outing on the tourist sled.
You will then be ready to take control (under the supervision of a guide) of your own 4-strong team of huskies.
Prices vary depending on the time of year and number of participants.

Snowmobile excursions
The snowmobile is an adventurous mode of transport and from time to time a necessary one in Northern Sweden. The snowmobile allows us to access places that are hard to reach even during the summer.
We have snowmobile excursions ranging from one to several days.
We reserve the right to modify or either partially or completely cancel an excursion if the weather conditions are unsatisfactory. This is for everyone’s safety.
Single day tour
Once we’ve picked up our snowmobiles and equipment/clothing we’ll head out into the wilderness.
The weather will determine whether we have lunch in the cabin at the top of Ansätten or if we have it outside in front of a fire.
Regular stops are made for photography or simply to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Prices vary depending on the time of year and number of participants.
We reserve the right to modify or either partially or completely cancel an excursion if the weather conditions are unsatisfactory. This is for everyone’s safety.
Two day excursion
On this excursion the nights are spent in a tent, which is a unique experience.
This excursion is primarily aimed at the adventurer as spending the night in a tent at temperatures of 20 degrees below zero (sometimes even colder) is a real challenge!
Once we’ve picked up our snowmobiles and equipment/clothing we’ll head out into the wilderness.
The weather will determine whether we have lunch in the cabin at the top of Ansätten or if we have it outside in front of a fire.
We head out at around 1500 and make our way to our camp where we’ll be spending the night. Everyone helps to pitch the tent. After a warm meal and a chat under a hopefully clear blue sky illuminated by the northern lights, we head to bed and hope for a good night’s sleep.
Day 2, after a hearty breakfast, everyone helps to dismantle the tent, after which the tour continues. The tour is concluded around 1500 and the snowmobiles and equipment/clothing are returned.
Prices vary depending on the time of year and number of participants.
We reserve the right to modify or either partially or completely cancel an excursion if the weather conditions are unsatisfactory. This is for everyone’s safety.
Snowmobile safari 700
The entire week revolves around the snowmobile and we will be covering a distance of roughly 150 km per day.
The nights are spent in either mountain cabins or a hotel.
Prices vary depending on the time of year and number of participants.
We reserve the right to modify or either partially or completely cancel an excursion if the weather conditions are unsatisfactory. This is for everyone’s safety.

Combination week
Arctic Experience Week
A combination of all the activities Fjällspirit has to offer.
Some of the activities you will take part in during the week include a two day snowmobile excursion where the night is spent in either a mountain cabin or a hotel (this is up the participants themselves), a dog sled excursion, ice fishing, cross country skiing and snow shoe hiking.
The week also includes a “kåtakväll”: we will spend an evening in a traditional Sami tipi tent where we will prepare our dinner over an open fire. Listen to the many stories the Sami people have to tell while you sit on a warm reindeer skin in front of a crackling fire.
Choose between accommodation in a hotel (half or full board) or in a mountain cabin (self catering).
Prices vary depending on the time of year and number of participants.
We reserve the right to modify or either partially or completely cancel an excursion if the weather conditions are unsatisfactory. This is for everyone’s safety.
Snowmobile and dog sled combination
A two day snowmobile excursion – the nights are spent in either a tent or hotel (this is up to the participants themselves) followed by an introduction to dog sledding.
The days without scheduled activities can be spent trying out other winter pastimes such as cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snow shoe hiking, ice fishing etc.
Prices vary depending on the time of year and number of participants.
We reserve the right to modify or either partially or completely cancel an excursion if the weather conditions are unsatisfactory. This is for everyone’s safety.

Survival School
In contrast to our summer activities, we have chosen to call this one “Survival School” instead of “Hiking School”.
The winter really puts your survival skills to the test. Knowing how to raise a tent properly in the snow, how to build an emergency shelter, how to make fire and how to avoid frostbite can determine whether you live or die. Learn how to use a map and compass, learn how to fix a snowmobile in an emergency and learn how to predict and deal with difficult situations that arise..
Learn how to READ nature and its many hidden “messages”.
Learn how to live in harmony with nature and how to make use off all the possibilities it has to offer.
Learn the tricks of the trade and you’ll be able to survive anywhere in the world!
THIS IS A TRULY ENRICHING EXPERIENCE!

Ice fishing
There are two large lakes in the valley beneath the Ansätten that are great for ice fishing: Lake Åkersjön and Lake Bakvattnet.
There is also the possibility of taking the snowmobile up to one of the many alpine lakes in the area.
Any fish we catch is prepared and eaten on the spot.
|
|
Kåtakväll
Another possibility during your stay is a so called “kåtakväll” (“kväll” is Swedish for evening). A kåta is a typical Sami tipi tent with a fireplace in the centre, on which food is prepared. Listen to the many stories the Sami people have to tell while you enjoy your meal.
